DCIMF is for Music lovers: Opportunities abound for filmmakers and musicians to network and cross-pollinate. Our joint festivals are a perfect melding of the two industries, which are increasingly interdependent.
In addition to the Opening and Closing musical and daily performances by independent artists; DCIFF presents informative seminars to reinforce the Music and Film bond ( Music Composition for Film, Music rights).The DCIMF is proud to feature talented acts each night of the festival.

Past Washington, DC Independent Music Festivals:Within the context of the DCIFF, but with a substance and flavor all its own, is the DC Independent Music Festival (DCIMF). The DCIMF, now in its third year, will feature an eclectic mix of artists, spotlighting the flourishing local DC music scene.
Examples of music and film coming together last year included:2009 LineUp 2008 LineUp: Celebrated film composer David Amram’s thrilling performance at the Opening Night ceremonies and and a special premiere on Closing Night of "The Clash Live: Revolution Rock" an electrifying new performance documentary film compiling an extraordinary range of peak live concert and live studio performances and more from the Clash, the groundbreaking British band who defined and expanded the power of punk-rock in the 1970s, 1980s and beyond; presented by by SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT.2007 LineUp: Closing Night: Presentation of rockumentary "I Trust You to Kill Me!", followed by a Question & Answer session with Pliny Porter (Producer), Kiefer Sutherland (Producer), Manu Boyer (Director), Carol Bidault (DCIFF Executive Director), followed by a performance by the Rocco de Luca and the Burden Band.
